Craft vendors sought for Lollipop Lane Holiday Boutique

The Lollipop Lane Craft Boutique returns to the John Todd Community Center at Mayfair Park on Saturday, October 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Boutique Committee will begin accepting vendor applications starting August 17.
Registration will be conducted through non-electronic mail-in registration only. Walk-ins and faxed applications are not accepted. The form below should be opened, printed, filled out, signed and mailed in. Carefully review and follow the form’s instructions.

News ImageThe Friends of Lakewood Libaries will host a used book sale featuring a “Make Your Own Ice Cream Sundae Bar" at the Angelo M. Iacoboni Library on Saturday, July 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Proceeds from all sales directly support Lakewood's two local libraries.

There will be many mystery novels available along with hardback books at $1.00 and up, and paperback and bargain books for .50. Location:

News ImageResidents are encouraged to bring their used tires to a free tire recycling event in Lakewood on Saturday, July 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Clark Avenue and Del Amo Boulevarde. Click for event flyer and map

This is an opportunity to remove those stubborn tires cluttering garages and yards in an environmentally safe manner. Collected tires can often be recycled and used for the construction of amenities that benefit the community such as street repaving using recycled tire material.

Free emergency response team training
News ImageIn conjunction with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Lakewood is offering Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training. Both lecture and hands-on exercises cover topics like light search and rescue, triage, fire safety, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

St. Pancratius Church Festival 2009

Summer of Superheroes!

St. Pancratius Church is having its Annual Festival featuring rides, games, international food booths and entertainment.

The festival is a fundraiser for the church outreach programs and for the St. Pancratius K-8 school. All proceeds help buy new books, school supplies, sports equipment and more.

Start date: Sept. 11, 2009. Gates open at 6pm for this day.

For weekend dates, gates open at 12NN
